For over 20 years the Propex name has been synonymous with quality air and water heating products. From the early days, heaters were designed for the leisure market and with the new Heatsource range, they now manufacturer some of the most advanced gas heaters available today for a variety of applications from Motor homes, Caravans and Horseboxes to leisure craft. Propex are based close to our branch here in Southampton, so we are able to provide an unparalleled after sales service.
The Heatsource 1800 is a powerful forced air heater with a very low electrical current consumption. It has an electronic thermostat control and is extremely quiet when in operation. The heater comes with Stainless Steel mounting brackets, flue pipe and heat exchanger. All the Heatsource range is manufacture in the UK under ISO 9001 and tested to EN624. The safety features include continuous flame monitoring and combustion airflow sensing, Thermal cutout protection and auto reset. The heater also has low / high voltage cutout, electrical surge protection to ISO 7637 and fitted as standard is a diagnostic fault finding system. The Heatsource 1800 is a compact heater, probably the smallest of its type on the market and consequently has a fast warm up time.
The Heatsource 1800 is controlled using a wall mounted solid-state electronic thermostat. When the room temperature drops below the selected level, the Heatsource 1800 will automatically ignite and run until the cabin has reached the required temperature. Unlike some heaters, there is minimal electrical current consumption during ignition so the Heatsource 1800 can be cycled on and off without draining the battery. With forced air combustion and the Propex two stage stainless steel heat-exchanger, the Heatsource 1800 is a clean and highly efficient way to heat the cabin of you’re boat. Air for combustion is taken from outside and is passed into the combustion chamber having been mixed with gas during two aeration stages.
After 15 seconds of pre-purge with the fan running on its own the internal microprocessor controlled electronics will switch on the spark generator for 4 seconds during which time ignition will take place. These high output clean burning appliances are totally room sealed and exhaust all waste combustion products externally. To add to the efficiency, cabin air is normally re-circulated in preference to using cold air from outside. The Heatsource 1800 is also very efficient on electrical current consumption. The high quality motor/fan combination and innovative current reducing electronics means that the larger Heatsource 1800 draws around 1.2 amps during normal operation.
The Heatsource 1800 has a 1.6kw output with will suit low volume boats up to 34feet. With the heater on continuous cycle it will run on a Calor Gas 4.5Kg cylinder for 35hours. For large boats a 2.8kw model is available offering up to 3 outlets.
The Heatsource 1800 is designed to be quiet in operation without compromising air throughput and heat output. There will always be some air noise from any system that produces a healthy throughput of air, however, by using high quality balanced fans and smooth motors with ball race bearings, noise is kept to a minimum.
The Heatsource 1800 Installation Kit contains the Heater with it’s Thermostat and wiring, a Stainless Steel bulkhead mounting bracket, 1m exhaust, 1m combustion air inlet, the Stainless steel marine flue terminal and 5m x 60mm hot air ducting,
1 x Hot air outlet with directional control and also comes with cables and fasteners. The twin outlet model in addition to the above has 1 x Hot air outlet with open / close vent and 1 x Y branch.
