Whether you're one of numerous skippers becoming more adventurous by planning extended cruises across the world's oceans or just a weekend sailor on inland waterways, you'll need a gas system that will give you enough gas for your longest passage and enable you to replenish gas supplies with relative ease.
When it comes to voyages overseas, the whole of the subject becomes a bit tricky to deal with, because trading areas of LPG companies and their containers and fittings, do not lend themselves to the needs of the blue water yachtsman. Our advice must therefore be a compromise, which aims to:
a) Acquaint the yachtsman with the limitations of the various marketplaces.
b) Provide practical and helpful information to the yachtsman.
c) Give advice that is safe.
The following notes are written with the above points in mind and also offer advice to those using inland waterways both in the UK and Europe.
It must be stressed that no responsibility can be accepted for the availability, performance or malfunction of any gas or equipment other than that supplied by authorised Calor Gas Dealers or Calor Centres in Great Britain.
